Mt 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

I like that word go. It is a verb, which means it is an action word. Jesus tells His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations. A handful of men went into the world to make disciples and that is just what they did. Think about that for one moment, if they didn’t obey Jesus’ injunction to go, then would we as believers be here today?  How did you come to know Jesus? Somewhere along the line of your life somebody had to have told you about the Gospel. Is telling everybody about the Gospel making disciples? No, it is preaching the Gospel which is necessary for people to believe:

Ro 10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

Preaching is important because it causes faith to arise within our hearts when we hear the word. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Did you notice that there are two steps outlined in this sentence?

1. Hearing comes from the Word of God

2. Faith comes by Hearing.

So many people put the emphasis on faith that the miss the importance of hearing. I can not tell you how many people come up to me and ask; “Pastor, how can I learn to hear the Lord speaking to me?” Do you know what my answer is to them? From the above Scripture I encourage them to do certain things like;

1. Read the Word of God;

2. Think about what you are reading;

3. See how it applies to your life;

4. Do what it says.

By doing these steps the voice of God will become clearer to you. Hearing is dependent on the Word of God; so by reading, thinking, applying and doing you will develop a keen ear to hear God. Note that God didn’t tell them to go make believers, but disciples. Disciples are those who have begun to apply Gods Word to their lives to such a degree that they live it. That is abiding in the Word and that is what makes disciples.

Joh 8:31 ¶ Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

Doing the Word of God is not complicated, it is as simple as learning to hear and in hearing you would have the faith to accomplish all that He has called you to do. So by all means go out and share the Word of God with someone today. The Word is powerful enough to accomplish all that God desires.

Isa 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper [in the thing] for which I sent it.

Just be willing to send the Word out into the world you live in today. That can be accomplished in so many different ways. Find one that suits your personality and start doing it today. Our world and nation desperately need to hear from you.

Have a Great Day!!!
