In the American culture today we are fast becoming a cult of diverse and sometime contradictory beliefs. In Focus on the Family’s “The Truth Project” a startling figure was stated by Del Tackett, the speaker, that I had a hard time believing. He said that only 4% of American Christians have a Christian worldview. Encarta English Dictionary gives this definition of world-view: a comprehensive and usually personal conception or view of humanity, the world, or life. When I read this definition I thought that ‘this is obviously a great definition of the secular world-view.’ It really is, because it is based on an individual’s conception or view of the world around him. You might say what is wrong with that? Isn’t that the way it is suppose to be? The answer to those questions would be yes if you are being pressured by this culture which is daily growing secular in its perception.

Even within the church we see a growing trend of such diversity of belief that it is as if a Christian can choose whatever he like or dislikes in the formation of his worldview. The key word in that last sentence is his worldview, not God’s world-view. Mt 6:33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. (AMP) Note that God in His righteousness has a way of doing and being right. If we want to have a righteous (Christian) world-view then we are going to have to understand His way’s of doing and being right. Does God have a lot of different ways, like Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism….etc? To answer this we must first determine the way God designed for us to know what is true, so we can know His way.

2Ti 3:16 Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, <and> for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), (AMP)

God’s way of doing and being right is taught to us by the Holy Scripture alone, nothing more, nothing less and nothing else. How do you see truth? Is it true because you believe it or is it truth regardless? How you answer this question will determine whether you adhere to Biblical truth or some other truth. When you accept Biblical (scriptural) truth it demands that we accept it to the point of conforming to it in thought, purpose, and action. Which will result in us living our life in holy living, adhering to a Christian world-view.

Remember I asked if God had many ways? Jesus answered this for us in the Scripture Jn 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”(NKJV) To accept this and conform your thought, purpose and action to this Scripture verse, you are going to suddenly find yourself going against the tide of our American culture today. This culture preaches a doctrine of absolute tolerance of other people’s world-view. It is viewed as narrow minded and rude to suggest that your personal truth is the only way. It has become so intense that you can feel it every time you make a definitive statement of Truth. You are almost subconsciously waiting for those around you to reply to you in chorus, “YOU BIGOT, HOMO PHOBE….etc. The nice thing about having a Christian world is it is not your personal view, but God’s ultimate way of doing and being right. We have died to our personal view of things and have renewed our minds with His Word when we accepted Jesus as the only way to heaven.

This is why the apostle Paul exhorted the Roman Church in its epistle from him; Ro 12:1 ¶ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your reasonable service. 2  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Let us remember that the world is constantly trying to get us to conform to them, with the pressure of not wanting to offend anyone with your beliefs. You might as well accept the fact that if you have a true Christian world-view this “Culture Cult” will view you as extremely odd and keep you out of it’s way of doing and being wrong. With their  comprehensive conception that views truth as ever expanding (more), non-exclusive (no absolutes) and inclusive (everything else). God’s way is the absolute opposite of the world’s and is the only way of nothing more, nothing less and absolutely nothing else.

Have a Great Day!!!
